New CODE Framework Release Now Available
Houston, TX – August 24, 2015… EPS Software Corp., CODE, and Markus Egger Inc. are proud to announce a new CODE Framework release.
CODE and EPS Software is proud to announce a new release of CODE Framework. This new version includes a brand-new theme called “Universe”, which allows developers to create WPF applications capable of running on all operating systems that can run WPF (such as Windows 7 and newer), yet the theme looks and feels like Windows 10 Universal Applications (UWP). The theme is a full-featured theme including a custom set of icons, layout elements, and much more. This theme has rapidly turned into one of the most used themes and serves as a new standard for many CODE Framework developers.
In addition to the new Universe theme, many of the existing themes have received significant updates. All themes feature improved touch support. The framework now also features custom objects developers can use to implement custom touch features. The Workplace theme (which mimics the look of Microsoft’s Office desktop applications) has also been upgraded significantly to be up-to-date with the look and behavior of the latest Office applications.
CODE Framework has always been unique in that it supports developers and designers greatly in creating layouts and other visual aspects of the user interface. This latest version of CODE Framework pushes this further by providing a number of new layout panels. This enables developers to create highly maintainable UIs even more rapidly.
This version of the framework introduces a new set of features around user input validation as well as interface security. New (optional) binding syntax and attribute driven development allow for very advanced and customizable security and validation setups. All input validation is completely stylable and supports flexible templating, as developers have come to expect from CODE Framework.
Not all enhancements and additions focus on the user interface layer. The latest release features significant new features in the service layer of the framework. A new feature supports hosting generic services (which can also be hosted using WCF) in WebAPI with just a single line of code. This makes it possible to create very generic services without having tying the service to a specific protocol, yet providing great support for the popular REST standard. The new set of features has been created with MicroServices and containers in mind. In addition to the server-side features, new client-side features have been added, making it much easier to call various kinds of REST services when using the framework to build clients.
