New CODE Framework Release Now Available
Houston, TX – April 2, 2015… EPS Software Corp., CODE, and Markus Egger Inc. are proud to announce a new CODE Framework release.
This release of CODE Framework has two major areas of enhancements: 1) Services and 2) WPF UIs (especially touch UIs).
The CODE Framework service infrastructure has been enhanced to support simplified calling of REST services in a completely transparent and interchangeable way. Using this new feature, it is possible to call REST services without having to worry about any of the underlying details. This greatly enhanced developer productivity and reduces common sources of errors. Making a call to a REST service from CODE Framework clients of any kind, is a single-line, strongly-typed call. Using this approach, developers can also switch to other service standards (such as SOAP or TCP/IP-binary) on the fly without any code changes. The same approach can even be used to simulate or test service calls without the need of an actual back-end services, which is a feature that is of critical importance for quality control.
The WPF UI enhancements include a wide range of features. New standard icons have been added to all themes. New controls and layout elements have been added to all themes. Many of the updates revolve around touch support. The default Metro theme has been updated to support more touch scenarios. Some of the older Metro elements have been updated (and added to) to more closely match the current generation of Windows Store UIs. General responsiveness and performance has been enhanced as well (especially for all tile interfaces/styles). The team spent time on new animations and UI polish.
The current system is more flexible than ever when it comes to switching between different application themes (such as switching a Desktop app into touch mode, and vice-versa). The improvements also further raise developer productivity and enhance overall application maintainability.
Other features including in this release are upgrades to existing components, such as improvements to some core features such as new helper objects and more.
